Start Biography

 Ms. Lowe leads assessment strategy, exam analytics, and curriculum alignment for the Department of Curriculum and Assessment to support student learning, faculty development, and continuous program improvement across the preclinical curriculum and beyond.

Ms. Lowe’s work is grounded in learning and cognitive science, with particular emphasis on how learners process information, manage cognitive load, and develop durable understanding. She applies these principles to the design of assessment systems, feedback structures, and instructional and learning supports that help students build metacognitive awareness and self-directed learning skills.

Ms. Lowe also champions and conducts research on the thoughtful integration of educational technology and emerging AI-supported tools to enhance teaching and learning. Her work has been shared with national and international audiences and contributes to broader conversations on assessment innovation, learning science, and the responsible use of AI in medical education. Ms. Lowe focuses on using data and technology responsibly to improve feedback timing and quality, surface meaningful learning patterns, and support faculty decision-making while preserving the central role of human judgment and connection in medical education.
