Student Health Insurance
All on-ground students are required to carry comprehensive health insurance for the benefit of the university community. Read more about the requirements below.
Health Insurance Requirements
We offer a policy through Relation Insurance Services.
The rate for the 2022-2023 school year is $4,740. The cost will be billed in equal installments to your student account.
The health insurance provider for the student health insurance program is Wellfleet and the network is Cigna. There is no dental, vision or dependent coverage under the 2022-2023 plan.
The waiver portal to opt-out of health insurance is open for a specific amount of time depending on your program (waiver portal dates below). Once the waiver portal is open for your program, you will receive an email. To log into the waiver portal you will need the following information: Last Name, Date of Birth, and Student ID Number (note- please use the “T” when entering your Student ID Number). It is recommended to upload a copy of the front and back of your health insurance ID card when you submit your waiver. Once you are logged in to the waiver portal you will need to enter your health insurance information including:
- Insurance Company Name
- Insurance Company Phone Number
- Relationship to Insured
- Policy/Group Number
- Member/Subscriber ID
- Address of Primary Insured
After you have entered the required information, click submit. You will then receive an email confirming the submission of your waiver. Once your health insurance information has been reviewed, you will receive an email with the outcome. Please keep in mind, inaccurate information or insufficient information may lead to an initial denial of your waiver. If denied, please contact the Office of the Bursar for a secondary review. Once you receive confirmation of your successful waiver, the process is completed and your waiver is valid until the next academic year as long as you have continuous coverage. Your Insurance coverage is re-verified randomly throughout the year. If your coverage changes you will need to email firstname.lastname@example.org.

The requirements to opt-out are:
- You must have coverage in Nevada
- Deductible of $3,000 or less
- Plan/lifetime maximum must be unlimited
- Active coverage for the entire school year
The following health insurance coverage is automatically approved:
- Nevada Medicaid Insurance (Out-of-state Medicaid Insurance will need to apply for Nevada Medicaid)
- Military Insurance
- Employer-sponsored insurance via spouse, parent, domestic partner, or current employer
Student Health Insurance Auto-Enrollment
On-ground students who do not submit an opt-out waiver by the deadline will be automatically enrolled in the student health insurance program, and the student will be charged for the health insurance coverage.
