Leslie Ann Winters
Leslie joins the Touro University Nevada team with more than 16 years of experience in Student Affairs working with campus communities (faculty, staff, students, and campus organizations) on topics of diversity, social justice, policy, and inclusive pedagogy. She has served as an advisor and coach to graduate students. Leslie has implemented training programs focused on effective interpersonal and intercultural communication while working to build inclusive communities for both students and employees. She offers a wealth of experience in crisis intervention and conflict mediation. As Director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Outreach, Leslie is excited to bring her level of insight and vision to the Touro family via professional development and programming.
Leslie is currently pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy from Iowa State University in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Education with research in Critical Race Parenting, racial socialization, colorism, and internalized racism. Her previous education includes a Master of Arts in Sociology from DePaul University, a Master of Science in Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Alverno College.
