Start Biography

Dr. Laura DeLeon, DNP, APRN, FNP C has dedicated her career to advancing compassionate, equitable, and evidence based care for women. She began her nursing career in 1997 after earning her Associate Degree in Nursing in Lima, Ohio. She later completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lubbock Christian University in 2013 and her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from West Texas A&M University in 2016.

Dr. DeLeon has practiced in a private gynecology clinic in Las Vegas since 2016, providing comprehensive care to women across the lifespan. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Touro University Nevada in 2024, focusing her doctoral work on improving HPV vaccination rates in women’s health through an evidence based protocol. Her DNP project received first place at the 2024 National Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Health (NPWH) Conference, recognizing its innovation and clinical impact. She will further disseminate her findings as a podium presenter at the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) National Conference in 2026.

Dr. DeLeon is passionate about advancing the field of women’s health and currently serves on the NPWH National Advocacy Committee for Women’s Health, contributing to national policy, education, and advocacy initiatives that support women and families.

Her clinical background includes labor and delivery, antepartum care for high risk pregnancies, maternal child home health, maternal newborn care, and gynecology. She believes deeply in listening to women’s stories and ensuring that each patient is treated as a valued partner in her own healthcare. Forming lifelong connections, supporting women from adolescence through adulthood, pregnancy, menopause, and beyond, remains the most meaningful part of her clinical practice.

Dr. DeLeon previously served as adjunct faculty before joining Touro University Nevada full time in 2026. Teaching is her passion, and she is committed to helping APRN and DNP students grow into confident, compassionate, and skilled advanced practice providers.

Dr. DeLeon is married and has one son, a United States Marine Corps veteran currently attending the Police Academy in Las Vegas. She also enjoys adventures with her energetic rescue dog—her favorite hiking and swimming companion. She loves traveling to England to visit family and exploring the history, culture of Europe.
