Demystifying The Science Behind Influenza Vaccinations

-

There is an increase in noted hesitancy across the nation and within the state of Nevada regarding vaccines. Therefore, with the 2020 flu season well underway, (this year, more than ever), it is important to offer educational options that facilitate greater understanding regarding the science, protocols, and research pertaining to vaccines. The Nevada Office of Minority Health and Equity (NOMHE) presents a unique opportunity to address this hesitancy by providing Nevadans (especially those most vulnerable and/or underserved) the information they need to make decisions regarding their health via a two-part webinar series. This invitation (to the first installment of the series) will address flu related questions, with a COVID-19 related discussion occurring during the second webinar in the series.

On November 20, 2020, medical experts will discuss topics ranging from influenza basics to the impact of critical cases of flu, clinical/research methods behind developing a seasonal flu vaccine, and the role of flu shots in preventive care and chronic disease before engaging in a facilitated Question and Answer session where all inquiries (from the diverse collection of attendees) will be encouraged.
