Touro University Nevada is featured in season 12 of ‘The College Tour’ TV series that tells the story of colleges and universities around the world to give prospective students a virtual tour through the authentic lens of its current students. Touro is the first medical college in Nevada featured in this series, which highlights 10 students’ journeys into the medical field and their experience on campus. The episode is now available to stream online, and students and faculty got to watch it first at an exclusive watch party on campus.

“We’re so proud to present this episode to our students and faculty who got to experience our campus beyond just a school but as a live filming set,” said Dean Philip Tompkins, Dean of Students. “This watch party is a celebration of those who shared their Touro stories and experience here with us.”

The watch party kicked off in a grand fashion with a blue carpet complete with paparazzi. Students entered the lecture hall turned theatre room complete with movie snacks. Speeches made by Dr. Andrew Priest, Campus President & Provost welcomed everyone to this premiere and Dean Tompkins thanking everyone for their hard work on this huge accomplishment.

“It was truly meaningful to see our stories shared on the big screen,” said James Liu Tang, Occupational Therapy Doctorate student. “It was special to work alongside other students, getting to know their stories, and see how our diverse experiences collectively represent the essence of Touro University Nevada.”

After the 30-minute episode premiere students were treated to sparkling cider, cupcakes and other treats. In tandem with the live event on campus, there was a virtual watch party on Zoom where alumni, community partners, and friends & family were also able to take part in the event.

“‘The College Tour’ episode is an important reminder that we are a part of something bigger than ourselves,” added Dean Tompkins. “We are a medical school amongst a whole host of post-graduate options students have, but our goal is singular to provide the best education and learning experience that is the foundation for their future career success.”
