Touro Returns to The Four Seasons for Annual Gala to Help Raise Money for Students
Touro University Nevada welcomed nearly 600 guests to The Four Seasons during the university’s annual Gala to raise money for its students.
This was the first time the university held an in-person Gala since 2019.
“The Touro Gala is a wonderful opportunity for members of the Southern Nevada community to really make a difference in the lives of our students,” said Shelley Berkley, CEO & Senior Provost. “The Touro community has done important work in the community, especially during COVID-19, and the money we raise from the Gala will enhance our students’ educational experience at Touro.”
Guests enjoyed a delicious meal, bid on more than 100 silent auction items and 10 separate items during the live auction, all to help raise money for students.
During the Gala, Touro honored the State of Qatar’s Ambassador to the U.S., His Excellency Sheikh Meshal bin Hamad Al-Thani, for the Embassy of the State of Qatar’s $3 million endowment gift to the Sigesmund-Pierce Center for Autism & Developmental Disabilities at Touro University Nevada.
Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak was also in attendance and presented His Excellency with a Proclamation for his contributions to Touro’s Autism Center.
In his remarks, Gov. Sisolak commended Touro for the work its students and faculty had done on the COVID-19 frontlines.
U.S. Congressman Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.), who serves as Chair of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, delivered the Gala’s keynote address.
Dr. Alan Kadish, President of the Touro College and University System (TCUS), was also in attendance and spoke about the important work TCUS is doing throughout the world to keep us safer and healthier.
