DPA Tracks

DPA students can choose from four professional study tracks, each focusing on key areas of value for the graduate Physician Assistant. Tracks are integrated into every course within the DPA curriculum, culminating in the completion of a Capstone Doctoral Project that aligns with your chosen track of study.

Clinical

The DPA Clinical Track is designed to advance and reinforce your knowledge of clinical medicine or surgery through focused research and discussion. Students will be provided concentrated scholarly exercises throughout the curriculum that emphasize evidence-based approaches to medical and surgical disease. 

Behavioral Health

The DPA Behavioral Track challenges students to research and discuss key elements influencing behavioral health, including but not limited to discussions in psychology and social work, theories of human behavior, challenges in various populations, mental health disorders, and mental health management options.

Medical Education

The DPA Medical Education Track prepares students for a role as a medical educator.  Students will explore educational theories in medical education including active learning, curriculum design that conveys complex medical concepts, researching and commenting on contemporary teaching and assessment tools, and recognizing key elements of mentorship and leadership.  

Healthcare Administration

The DPA Healthcare Administration Track challenges students to research and discuss key elements of healthcare administration, including but not limited to the basic understanding of healthcare systems, healthcare policies, healthcare law including regulation and ethics, fiscal responsibilities of the administrator, and leadership skills including human resource management.
