Nevada's First Fully Accredited Clinical Simulation Center

Touro University Nevada’s Michael Tang Regional Center for Clinical Simulation has been granted full accreditation by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare’s (SSH) Board of Review, making it the first simulation center in Nevada to receive this distinction.

Students from both colleges work in groups to discuss the diverse medical and healthcare practices represented at the event.

Collaborating to Improve Patient Care

Touro University Nevada hosted an Interprofessional Education Event bringing together students from the College of Osteopathic Medicine and College of Health and Human Services in addition to 45 pharmacy students from Roseman University and 30 speech-language pathology students from Nevada State University. This event is an opportunity for students to gain experience working with cross-disciplinary medical professionals in simulation scenarios that prepares them for real-world patient care.

Celebrating the Diverse Paths Within Healthcare at Winter Commencement

On November 4, 119 Touro University Nevada’s College of Health & Human Services (CHHS) students walked across the stage to accept their degrees as a final celebration upon completing their programs. The winter commencement ceremony graduated 88 physician assistant students, 19 nursing students, and 18 education students.

Touro University Nevada Celebrates Healthcare Simulation Week with 70,000 Hours of Learning

Touro University Nevada’s Michael Tang Regional Center for Clinical Simulation is the first simulation center in Nevada to be provisionally accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. The center, which is 18,000 square feet and contains roughly 200 pieces of equipment, allows instructors to set up an unlimited number of medical scenarios to benefit the more than 1000 students in all the healthcare programs of Touro University Nevada.

City of Henderson Partners with TUN's Pierce Autism Center for Social and Emotional Learning Program

Touro University Nevada’s Pierce Autism Center has partnered with the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation department to offer a unique training program for part- and full-time staff members involved with the city’s youth programs. The 90-minute course aims to teach employees specific skills when navigating behaviors that can occur during interactions with children enrolled in City of Henderson youth and after-school programs.

Dr. Gilliar, an internationally recognized medical educator and systems innovator, has been instrumental in leading the largest medical school in the state of Nevada. His guidance and mentorship have transformed millions of lives around the world.

Touro University Nevada is featured in season 12 of ‘The College Tour’ TV series that tells the story of colleges and universities around the world to give prospective students a virtual tour through the authentic lens of its current students. Touro is the first medical college in Nevada featured in this series, which highlights 10 students’ journeys into the medical field and their experience on campus. The episode is now available to stream online, and students and faculty got to watch it first at an exclusive watch party on campus.

On September 8, 179 Osteopathic Medicine (COM) students and 138 students enrolled in The College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) at Touro University Nevada donned their white coats in this honorary ceremony that marks student’s first steps in their medical education journey.
