In the spirit of giving for the holiday season, and following Touro’s mission of providing service to humanity, Touro’s students collectively donated nearly 3,000 lbs. of canned food to Three Square Food Bank as part of the annual ‘End Hunger Games’ food drive.

Two separate contests were held for the 4th annual ‘End Hunger Games,’ as programs within the College of Health and Human Services and the six houses within the College of Osteopathic Medicine each competed to see which program and house could donate the most canned food.

The School of Physical Therapy donated an astounding 1,625 lbs. of canned food, more than half of the total amount donated, and by far the most throughout the university. The Ross-Lee House donated the most food within the College of Osteopathic Medicine. Each winner received a free bowling party, compliments of the Division of Student Affairs.

“I am thrilled to see how much our students care for the Southern Nevada community by their generous donations during the ‘End Hunger Games’ food drive,” said Dr. Philip Tompkins, Dean of Students. “Our students are preparing for careers in healthcare and education because they want to make our world a better place. The success of the ‘End Hunger Games’ is a testament to their dedication to helping others in their time of need.”
