Touro University Nevada Raising Student Scholarship Funds with First-Annual Walk-A-Thon
Touro University Nevada is banking on a little exercise to help raise money for student scholarships with the first-annual Walk-A-Thon.
The Walk-A-Thon takes place from Nov. 17 – Dec. 1 and has a goal of completing 300 miles while raising $2,500 from its participants.
“I signed up for the Walk-A-Thon because I already walk for many reasons,” said Brandi Hull, a second-year student in the College of Osteopathic Medicine. “Walking releases endorphins, which make you happy, and helps reduce stress from studying. I’m also participating because the Walk-A-Thon is going to help my fellow students with scholarship money. I’m getting in my own exercise while helping others at the same time.”
Everyone who participates in the Walk-A-Thon has four opportunities to win a $50 Amazon gift card:
Goal Crusher: Anyone who walks more than 15 miles.
Trend Setter: Anyone who takes a selfie and tags @touronevada and #tourowalkathon on their Instagram (story or post) or posts it to the official Touro University Nevada Walk-A-Thon Facebook post comment section.
Team Player: Anyone who registers him/herself and three friends for the Walk-A-Thon.
Rockstar: Anyone who raises $100 or more in donations or pledges.
There is still time to sign up for the Walk-A-Thon and help raise money for student scholarships.
