The School of Physical Therapy’s Class of 2019 closed out Spring Commencement season in front of family and friends on June 21 at Congregation Ner Tamid.

The university welcomed 40 new physical therapy alumni to the Touro family, and Kelsie Kaneshiro delivered the keynote address to her fellow graduates.

“Touro has above all, taught us how to be good people – the kind of people who will go on to create real change in our field and make positive impacts in the lives of our patients,” she said. “No matter where life takes us next, always remember that we had the courage, passion, and determination to succeed in this program, and that those same characteristics can get us through anything else we may face.”

CEO and Senior Provost Shelley Berkley also delivered words of wisdom to the graduates.

“You have struggled through long days of studying, listening to lectures, and learning at the side of our expert faculty and community healthcare partners,” she said. “I’m sure you had day when you didn’t know if you would make it to the end but you preserved and today, you can proudly walk across this stage.”
