Touro University Nevada is offering a Summer Research Fellowship program for 2014. The fellowship is available to Nevada residents who are undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited college program. The aim of this program is to expose undergraduate students to research including biomedical, clinical, epidemiological and educational research. The deadline for submitting a TUN Summer 2014 Research Fellowship Application is April 25, 2014.

In an intensive eight-week summer program, undergraduates, with appropriate faculty help, will formulate their own proposal, carry out research under supervision, write a research report and have the opportunity to see their work published when deemed qualified. In the process, students will attend research seminars and journal clubs, participate in discussions on developing careers in health care sectors, and learn how to apply to the professional schools. Students will be given opportunities to interact with our faculty and graduate students.

Applicants to the program should be Nevada residents who are undergraduate students in good academic standing. Preference will be given to students who are in their junior and senior years, and are majors in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or a related field. Applicants must have a strong interest in pursuing a career in health care professions. The program will be held from Tuesday, May 01, 2014 through Friday, June 30, 2014. Each fellow will be provided a $1,500 stipend for the period. Applicants should have their own health insurance coverage during this tenure.

The main criteria for the selection of fellows will be scholarship and the match of applicant interests with those of participating TUN faculty members. U.S. Citizens and/or permanent residents are eligible for application.
