Touro University Nevada Welcomes New Dean of Students and Director of Human Resources

Touro University Nevada welcomes Dr. Phil Tompkins and Robert Bailey.

Touro University Nevada (TUN) is pleased to welcome Dr. Phil Tompkins to the position of Dean of Students and Robert Bailey as Director of Human Resources at its Henderson location.

Dr. Tompkins comes to TUN from Central Arizona College (CAC) where he served as the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students. He has worked in student services for the past 16 years at institutions including UCLA, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Arizona State University and CAC. The seasoned educator received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northwest Missouri State University, his master’s degree from Clemson University, and his doctorate from UCLA.

“I am thrilled to join Touro University Nevada,” said Phil Tompkins. “I am enjoying meeting all the students, faculty and staff at Touro. I am committed to creating an environment where students feel that they are highly valued and are encouraged to strengthen their commitment to the university.”

Bailey comes to TUN after numerous years as Human Resources Manager for HMS Host at McCarran International Airport.  After obtaining his Masters of Science degree in Counseling and Education Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Baily incurred more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources as well as training knowledge after working for local companies such as Southwest Gas, LasCal Corporation (Taco Bell), Blitz Media Inc, and Wendy’s of Las Vegas. A former Air Force veteran, he holds various certifications including that of Senior Professional Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from Human Resources Certification Inc.

“Joining the Touro team is an honor,” said Robert Bailey. “I look forward to being an integral part of the team selecting new faculty and staff to educate the healthcare professionals of tomorrow.”

TUN opened its doors in 2004 and will be celebrating its 10th anniversary as 2014 approaches. The decade of commitment to the Southern Nevada community and healthcare industry that TUN has exhibited is reliant on the expertise and passion of faculty and staff.
