The Committee on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion along with the Rainbow Health Coalition present The Importance of Pronouns and Other Trans Inclusive Actions. Dr. Franklin Ellis (he/him/his) is the Director for the Provost’s Office of Inclusive Excellence at Vanderbilt University and Damon Kelsey (he/him/his) is a former higher education professional turned fashion designer for non-binary communities who has re-shifted his inclusion work to dismantling the racism and transphobia within the fashion industry.  Damon strives to expand people’s understanding of gender, clothing norms, and societal notions around beauty and self-acceptance, and his work has been on national pageant stages and RuPaul’s Drag Race. 

Dr. Ellis and Damon will present on the usage of pronouns and their importance as a sign of respect and an inclusive environment.
