Touro University Nevada Approaching Final Stages of Reaccreditation Process

Touro University Nevada is approaching the final phase of reaccreditation.
Jan 29, 2018

Touro University Nevada is in the final stages of its reaccreditation process with the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

Touro Nevada is a branch campus of Touro University California (TUC) and last received accreditation in 2010. The current reaccreditation process began in 2015 with a comprehensive self-study.

Holding regional accreditation is critical for many reasons: It demonstrates to all stakeholders that the institution has met high standards of quality and effectiveness; indicates that the institution operates in the interest of public good; helps ensure that credits and degrees are generally recognized for purposes of transfer, admission to other institutions, and employment; and allows Touro Nevada to offer eligible students U.S. federal financial aid.

The final step in the reaccreditation process is a site visit by members of the WSCUC evaluation team, who will be on the Touro Nevada campus March 12-13. WSCUC will visit the Touro California campus April 16-19.

During the site visits, the WSCUC team will tour the campuses and meet with students, faculty, staff, relevant committees, and governance groups.

The final Institutional Report can be viewed online.
