Lisa Ross, Accreditation Specialist for the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Touro University Nevada, recently completed her certification from The National Board for Certification of Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education.

Ross’s TAGME certification will be a valuable asset to Touro as the university’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Graduate Medical Education partner programs transition to a different accreditation body in June 2020. Currently, all of Touro’s GME partner programs are accredited through the AOA. In 2020, however, they will be accredited through the ACGME.

“Not everyone who works in the Graduate Medical Education world is TAGME certified. Becoming certified speaks to a certain command of the knowledge,” Ross said.

Ross is only one of approximately 1,100 certified TAGME members across the country. Her certification will help raise Touro’s profile as one of the leading medical schools in the Western United States.

“This is a tremendous honor for Lisa, who worked incredibly hard to earn her TAGME certification,” said Dr. John Dougherty, Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Touro. “Lisa’s certification will help lead Touro into the future as our D.O. Graduate Medical Education programs transition into ACGME accreditation.”
