Touro University Nevada Celebrates 10 Years of Dedication to Improving the Quality of Life and Healthcare in Southern Nevada
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Touro University Nevada (Touro) has been deeply invested in the local community, educating medical professionals to improve the healthcare of Southern Nevada. Touro will kick off this milestone anniversary with the ‘Ten for Touro Gala’ on Sunday, November 9 at the Keep Memory Alive Center at the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
AARP Driver Safety and Touro University Nevada to Host Carfit Event, Providing Vehicle and Safety Tips for Older Drivers
Students from Touro University Nevada’s School of Occupational Therapy alongside staff and volunteers of AARP Nevada will host a free, open to the community CarFit event for drivers in Southern Nevada on Tuesday, October 7 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Sunset Station Hotel & Casino.
Touro Nevada Launches First-Of-Its-Kind Mobile Healthcare Clinic to Address Needs of Less Fortunate, Homeless and Veterans of Downtown Las Vegas
Touro University Nevada will further its commitment to the Southern Nevada Community with the launch of a unique mobile healthcare clinic which will serve the homeless in the downtown area and throughout the Las Vegas Valley who cannot otherwise obtain healthcare. The mobile unit will be unveiled and officially launched at a press conference at the Zappos Campus Courtyard on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 10 a.m.
Summer Research Fellowship is Accepting Applications
Touro University Nevada is offering a Summer Research Fellowship program for 2014. The fellowship is available to Nevada residents who are undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited college program. The aim of this program is to expose undergraduate students to research including biomedical, clinical, epidemiological and educational research. The deadline for submitting a TUN Summer 2014 Research Fellowship Application is April 25, 2014.

Dean of Touro Nevada’s Medical School Becomes First Practicing Physician in Nevada to Receive National Award from American College of Physicians
The American College of Physicians (ACP) has voted to elect the Dean of Touro University Nevada’s Medical School, Mitchell D. Forman, DO, FACOI, FACP, FACR to Mastership in the American College of Physicians. Dr. Forman becomes the first practicing physician in the state of Nevada to receive this honor. The first Mastership in the ACP was presented in 1923.
Touro University Nevada Hosting Second Annual “Season of Lights” Event to Benefit Center for Autism & Developmental Disabilities
Touro University Nevada (TUN) will host its second annual “Season of Lights” luncheon and silent auction at the Nevada State Museum on Sunday, December 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All proceeds will benefit families who utilize diagnostic and treatment services of the TUN Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities and cannot afford services.
