Touro University Nevada will receive more than $21,000 for the Sharon Sigesmund Pierce and Stephen Pierce Center for Autism & Developmental Disabilities from the 10th annual Ante 4 Autism Celebrity Poker Tournament.
The tournament, held inside the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, raised more than $137,000 for five autism non-profit organizations across the country. Touro’s Center for Autism & Developmental Disabilities was the lone recipient from Nevada.
“The Ante 4 Autism Celebrity Poker Tournament was a resounding success for the autism community,” said Shelley Berkley, CEO & Senior Provost of Touro University Western Division. “We are so thrilled that our Center for Autism & Developmental Disabilities was a part of this wonderful event. This donation will make a huge impact on our Center.”
The tournament featured several professional poker players, including Erik Seidel, Jennifer Harmon, and tournament co-hosts Chip and Karina Jett among others. Additional celebrity participants included actors Nicholas Gonzalez from “The Good Doctor,” and Dennis Haskins from “Saved by the Bell.”
Ante 4 Autism had nearly 240 players and more than 40 sponsors for the special event.
