Touro University Nevada (TUN) is accepting applications for the 2017 Summer Research Fellowship program. The eight-week fellowship program is open to Nevada undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited college program.
The fellowship will be offered to the Nevada undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited college program. The aim of this program is to expose the Nevada undergraduate students to research including biomedical, clinical, epidemiological and educational research. In an intensive summer program, undergraduates with appropriate faculty help will formulate their own proposal, carry out research under the supervision of one of our faculty, write a research report and have the opportunity to see their work published when deemed qualified. In the process, students will attend research seminars and journal clubs and participate in discussions on developing careers in health care sectors and how to apply to the professional schools. Students will be given opportunities to interact with our faculty and graduate students.
Applicants to the program should be undergraduate students in good academic standing. Preference will be given to students who are in their junior and senior years, and are majors in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or a related field. Applicants must have a strong interest in pursuing a career in health care professions. Each fellow will be offered a $1,500 stipend for the period. Applicants should have their own health insurance coverage during this tenure.
The main criteria for the selection of fellows will be scholarship and the match of applicant interests with those of participating TUN faculty members. U.S. Citizens and/or permanent residents are eligible for application.
Each applicant must complete and submit the Summer Research Fellowship Application 2017 by April 21, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.
