Start Biography

I am a research scientist trained in pharmacology and physiology with expertise working in cell signaling in the cardiovascular system and in microcirculation. Prior to TOURO I have spent time working in a CRO doing drug testing on cells. Before going to a CRO, I taught PA students for four years at the University of South Florida (USF).
I spent the former part of my career doing research. Four years of microcirculatory research with a focus on the lymphatic system trying to understand the endothelial cell barrier as it relates to lymphedema. Three years at East Carolina University studying cardiovascular cell signaling trying to understand vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation as it relates to atherosclerosis. Then my beginning years doing my graduate work with microcirculatory cell signaling looking at red blood cell signaling with a focus on diabetes.
