DESCRIPTION:Please join the Office of Research in welcoming Susann Ahrabi-Fard from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Susann Ahrabi-Fard has worked for 28 years as a Communicable Disease Epidemiologist at the Wisconsin Division of Public Health. Her early training included an &ldquo;Emerging Infectious Disease&rdquo; laboratory fellowship through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) where she was stationed at the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene and completed rotations in Bacteriology, molecular diagnosis, Tuberculosis, and Virology. Her current position conducts disease surveillance and investigations for numerous diseases and conditions such as bacterial sepsis and meningitis, Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM) and Hepatitis A. &nbsp;She has participated in numerous national investigations including those caused by Salmonella, anthrax, H1N1, monkeypox, fungal meningitis and Zika virus. This seminar is open to Touro University Nevada students, faculty, and staff. Zoom and campus location details will be distributed via email prior to the event.
