RN to BSN Admission

To be considered for acceptance in the Registered Nurse to Baccalaureate Degree program, applicants must:

  • Have completed 60 semester hours of the required general education and pre-requisite coursework.
  • Have active state licensure as a registered nurse (RN).
  • Have graduated from a regionally accredited associate degree or diploma program in nursing.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative and science GPA of 2.5
  • Have completed the following coursework with a grade of C or better:

                4 semester hours of Chemistry/Biochemistry with Lab
                4 semester hours of Human Anatomy with Lab
                4 semester hours of Human Physiology with Lab
                4 semester hours of Microbiology with Lab
                3 semester hours of Nutrition
                3 semester hours of Human Growth & Development (Lifespan)
                3 semester hours of Mathematics or Statistics
                3 semester hours of Psychology
              General Education Course Requirements
                3-6 semester hours of Writing
                3-4 semester hours of Mathematics
                6-8 semester hours of Natural Sciences
                3 semester hours of Social Sciences
                3 semester hours of Fine Arts
                9 semester hours of Core Humanities
  • Students are required to fulfill a Nevada/U.S. Constitution as a requirement for the RN –BSN program. It is the responsibility of the student to fulfill this program requirement prior to graduation.
  • Possess basic computer skills in order to conduct Internet searches and use Microsoft Office.
  • Hold a U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status at the time of application.

How to Apply

1. Submit the TUN Admission Application. You may download the PDF to your computer, complete the application, save it using the “Save As” function and print the file.
2. Pay a non-refundable application fee of $50 in check or money order made out Touro University Nevada. Students can also pay online with a credit card.
3. Submit ALL official transcripts from all institutions you have attended, including undergraduate and graduate.
4. Submit a copy of your active licensure as registered nurse and CPR-American Heart Association certification at the healthcare provider level prior to entry into clinical courses.
5. Mail all supporting documents to:

6. Students can email the admissions office or call (702) 777-1750 to verify supporting documents have been received.
7. Upon receipt of all admissions documents, the Admissions Committee will review and determine which candidates will be accepted into the program.

8. Students who are successfully admitted must:

  • Have successfully completed a Health Assessment challenge examination administered by the School of Nursing or a three-credit Nursing Health Assessment course at the baccalaureate level from an accredited institution.
  • Pass a Level I criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Completion of required health immunization forms.
  • Submit the $500 deposit by the required date.
