Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine (TUNCOM) is the newest medical school in Nevada and the first Osteopathic school. Since opening its doors in 2004, it has grown to be the largest medical school in Nevada. In May, 2008, the first class of 76 medical students graduated.
TUNCOM developed the first and only Physician Assistant (PA) program in Nevada, and has graduated more than 120 new PAs into the workforce over the past three years.
TUNCOM now enrolls 135 students in each osteopathic medicine class and 56 in each physician assistant class each year.
TUNCOM medical students interact in a unique way with students from other health professions through the College of Health and Human Services programs in nursing, occupational therapy and physical therapy within the same campus. This opportunity broadens perspective and enhances understanding of roles and interactions required in health care delivery.
